  • Description: An ex-teacher by the name of Alexis Vergis agrees to give private lessons to the young son of a wealthy family. He soon realizes that the actual reason the family hired him is to help Anna, the sister of the little boy, who has suffered a nervous breakdown after her fiancé’s death. Methodically and with dignity, he tries to lift the girl’s spirits. They take walks in the countryside, talking about happy and carefree things, which helps relieve some of Anna’s pressure and grief. However, her stepmother is not happy about the relationship that is growing between the two young people, because her goal is actually to send Anna to a mental hospital so that she can inherit her husband’s fortune. She tries to malign Alexis and succeeds in part. Eventually, though, the truth prevails, and young love triumphs.
